LGA Airport Transfers
LaGuardia Airport
LaGuardia is the closest airport to Manhattan at just 8 miles from Midtown, making it the preferred choice for domestic travelers heading into the city. The recently rebuilt terminals are a massive upgrade, but ground transportation hasn't changed much. There's no rail link — your options are rideshare, taxi, or the M60 SBS bus to the subway. The short distance keeps fares reasonable, though the Grand Central Parkway bottleneck means travel times are unpredictable.
Ground Transportation Tips
- 1LGA has no AirTrain or rail connection. The M60 SBS bus to the N/W subway at Astoria Blvd is the cheapest option at $3.00, taking about 45-60 minutes to Midtown.
- 2Rideshare pickups are on the arrivals level — look for 'App Rides' signs near the outer curb of your terminal.
- 3Taxis from LGA run on the meter (no flat rate like JFK). Expect $35-$50 plus tolls and tip to Midtown Manhattan.
- 4The RFK Bridge toll (about $7.50 E-ZPass) is automatically included in your rideshare fare. Don't be surprised when the app shows a higher total than the distance would suggest.
